1 – How did you get your initial start in music?
I don’t know if I’ve had it yet. Putting a few songs on Soundcloud and people liking them.
2 – What would be your ultimate aim in the industry?
To win the Mercury Music Prize.
3 – How long have you been writing your own music?
I think around eight years. Most of that time has been practicing songwriting, lots of failures and and unfinished songs and ideas. It’s taken that long to reach a point where I feel like I’m firing on all cylinders.
4 – Who are your top three influences and why?
Ennio Morricone for his drama. Spiritualized for their emotive power. Swans for their sound.
5 – Is there anything you would like people to know about your current release?
Not really. I hope it stands alone and that people get something from listening to it.
6 – Where are you based and what’s your local scene like? Any favourite venues?
I live in London. There’s great music out there but the hit-rate is low. I’ve pretty much given up on taking a chance on new small bands and I only really go to gigs by touring bands and musicians I already like.
7 – Who else can you recommend from your local scene for people to have a listen to?
I really am the wrong person to ask.
