How did you get your initial start in music?
Just bought a cheap guitar and learnt to play it.I started quite late,at 19,and haven’t improved much since then, haha!
What would be your ultimate aim in the industry?
To pay the bills doing something I love.
How long have you been writing your own music?
Since I was 19,although I’ve only tried ‘singing’ these past 9 months or so.
Who are your top three influences and why?
Punk music,The Church [the Australian band},The Chameleons.They all struck a chord…geddit!
Is there anything you would like people to know about your current release?
My first ever single release, ‘Cool Ella’ is really just a hommage to the extraordinary voice of singer Ella Sopp, plus she’s pretty cool you know!
Where are you based and what’s your local scene like? Any Favourite venues?
Can’t pretend that there’s much of a scene around Norfolk/Suffolk,but then again I’m pretty out of touch,I’m 51 so I’m not very ‘with it’
Who else can you recommend from your local scene for people to have a listen to?
There’s plenty of bands around that you can get to hear on the internet but in all honesty nothing’s really’ jumped out’ at me.
My current favourite is a piece by Jason Parr called ‘A Devon Trip Remembered’. You can hear it here:
The Mojokings – I’ve just this minute ‘discovered’ them, they are just awesome.!! https://www.facebook.com/paul.mojoking?fref=nf
