Bank Street Martyrs have serenaded the towns and river that make up the vale of leven throughout their debut album release. Entitled Leven The Vale, the new album was released on all streaming platforms on the 10th of December 2022.
The debut album is also accompanied by a music video that is filmed in THE VALE OF LEVEN itself. Showcasing the town and landmarks, the music video is filmed in a melancholic manner featuring black and white filters. Directed by local filmmaker Harvey Smart, the video cuts between aerial drone shots and intimate street level views, with appearance from the band.
The debut album is filled with 11 original tracks that were all mainly written by founder of the band Ian Morris Retson. Starting his songwriting process, Ian calls on his poems which he has now passed onto musician Andrew Marsland who teamed up with vocalist Joseph Montenegro Watema.
