Do you ever wonder what it would be like to have a magical book that transports you to other places and times? Well, today we’ll be discussing the story behind the single “Memories” from the “The Spirit of Toronto” soundtrack, which was inspired by an incredible collaboration between musician and producer Gary Louca and operatic duo Darren & Caroline Clarke, aka Trovatori.
The song “Memories” is a pop classical crossover ballad that was written for a potential scene or episode from Gary’s story. After recording a demo and sending it to his music composer colleague Bradon Grobler, he felt the song needed the addition of operatic singers to truly bring the song to life. After some searching, he found Darren & Caroline “Trovatori” and they provided incredible performances and wrote the Italian outre part.
“The Spirit of Toronto” is the animation project based on the true story of the magical book Gary Louca found in the loft of his home in Toronto Road Portsmouth UK. The book contains stories and adventures of “Wan Sam” dating back to 1873 Ancient Magical China, Wild West USA 1873, Victorian UK 1873 and current times.
Gary has already commissioned and produced several short episodes and released them onto his YouTube channel. Since its release, “Memories” has had a great response and its remix even hit number 11 in the USA Masspool Dance Chart.
