The Masha Ocean Quartet have just announced the release of their mesmerizing Kaleidoscopic Realities debut album. On the 10th of November, music fans will be taken on an incredible musical journey through jazz, Spain and Russia that features an international mix of musicians.
The quartet is lead by Masha Ocean, award-winning jazz vocalist renowned for her performances in International Jazz Vocal Competition 2017, where she won first place, and Femina Jazz 2021, where she came in second place. Joining Masha on the album is a star-studded lineup including Robin Banerjee, the original guitarist for Amy Winehouse; the renowned Spanish double bass player Francis Posé, who has collaborated with Jorge Pardo and Perico Sambeat; the famed and versatile saxophonist Daniel Torres, who wrote the arrangement for ‘Tolox’ and Felix Rossy, whose trumpet playing was featured on the same track.
The project’s lead single ‘Tolox’, scheduled to be released on the 8th of September, is an upbeat and up-tempo song in Spanish that showcases playful jazz percussion between extended saxophone solos. The second single ‘Freedom (What We Have Lost )’, due out on the 6th October, leans more towards a cool and stylish jazzy ambience, making full use of the talents of each member of the quartet.
