Nottingham based artist Victoria Hoffman captures the heart of indie-folk in her latest release ‘Hopeless Love’. Her third single to date comes ahead of her debut album, which is to be released in Summer. Nigeria born, Victoria actually grew up in Greece before moving to the UK. Using her tasteful influence of different cultures, Victoria’s love for music has always been passionate.
“Hopeless Love” sounds somewhere between Amy MacDonald and KT Tunstall, which could never be a bad thing. Capturing an indie-folk attire within the palm of its hands, the track is diverse and mature. Explaining the story behind the track, Victoria mentions:
“This is a song about boy who sees girl on a bus and they have an instant connection. They both were in a relationship already, which makes things even more dramatic. They were seeing each other secretly, hoping they won’t get caught – unfortunately, it didn’t last long, the girl had to move away, and a few years later, she is married with kids and she is thinking of what it could have been, hitting that she would like to meet the guy again.”
“Hopeless Love” is entirely original and features a simplistic, songwriting approach – stating that sometimes, simplicity is key.
