Ex-prisoner and ex-member of the infamous Brixton PDC gang, Noble1BOF, is releasing his debut album, called Benefits of Freedom, on April 22nd. Noble1BOF is a featured artist on the ex-prisoner record label known as Red Tangent Records, which works to give ex-prisoners a chance to reform their lives and prevent them from re-offending.
Having first started writing his music while behind bars, Noble1BOF is able to combine multiple rap genres and styles that is paired well with the lyrics of a man explaining his lived experiences as an ex-prisoner and ex-gang member. By incorporating elements of drill, grime, and both contemporary and old-school Brixton sound waves, Noble1BOF was able to display his story and effectively turn his life around with the medium of music.
First performing in prison after working with the Irene Taylor Trust, Noble1BOF quickly grew into becoming one of the Irene Taylor Trust’s ambassadors to help young people at risk from making the same mistakes he has before. Through working with the Irene Taylor Trust and Red Tangent Records, Noble1BOF has vowed to help young people with his music and advocacy and continues to do so through the inspiration he receives in creating bars with beautifully composed beats and features. Noble1BOF is truly a one of a kind artist being an ex-prisoner himself, having ex-prisoner management while being on an ex-prisoner label.
