Michael Tinholme, the masterful singer-songwriter, does it again on his latest track entitled, “A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square.” Tinholme’s rendition of the Great American Songbook classic, “A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square,” is available to stream now on Spotify and Soundcloud, and the singer brings this old jazz classic to the modern stage.
“A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square” is one of a series of tracks that Michael Tinholme has released, including earlier singles titled “Lullaby For Our Daughters” and “A House Is Not A Home,” both of which Tinholme released earlier in 2022. “Lullaby For Our Daughters,” which featured David Bowie’s pianist, Mike Garson, saw international airplay and presented interview opportunities for Tinholme on K107FM, Manchester’s ALL FM, and multiple BBC radio stations. The more recently released “A House Is Not A Home” features legendary saxophonist Brandon Fields, who has played with legends such as Elton John, Quincy Jones, Earth, Wind and Fire, and George Benson.
Michael Tinholme’s silky voice pairs nicely with the horn stylings of Bruce Fowler on trombone and Walt Fowler on trumpet. The Fowlers have played with Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart, which has made the Fowlers an expert in their craft that helped them to provide the provide the perfect accompaniment.
“A Nightingale in Berkley Square” comes off of Tinholme’s latest album entitled Singled Out, which combines genres of jazz, rock, adult contemporary and other genres. Under the leadership of Tinholme, many industry legends have gotten more time in the limelight, which have only served to bolster and uplift Tinholme’s career and prestige. It goes without saying that Michael Tinholme should become a household name in the near future, thanks to Singled Out.
