The up-and-coming group from the United Kingdom, known as Some Velvet Morning, are scheduled to release a physical vinyl edition of their critically acclaimed album, Rough Seas, on September 19th. Rough Seas was co-produced by Coldplay’s producer, Rik Simpson, and, fortunately for fans, Rough Seas can be digitally streamed right now! This powerful trio consists of Desmond Lambert on guitar and vocals, Rob Flanagan on drums, and Gavin Lambert on bass and vocals.
The vinyl release of Some Velvet Morning’s most recent album coincides with the beginning of the band’s weekly release of accompanying music videos for the tracks on the album. The first video to be released with the vinyl is the opening track on the album entitled, “Ghosts.” Just as the song is stripped-back in nature, so too is the accompanying music video. Each corresponding video will reflect the attitude and tone of the song it corresponds with, resulting in a display of the band’s range and depth in both an audio medium and a visual medium.
Before the upcoming release of Rough Seas on vinyl, Some Velvet Morning has had success with some of their tracks on the album. Since its digital release in March of 2021, songs before the release of and from the release of Rough Seas have been featured on the Kick-Ass film trailer, Sky Sports, and the BBC’s 2020 Euro highlights. The single “Good To See You” from Rough Seas has since become a staple across in-person sporting events.
Be sure to buy Rough Seas on vinyl on September 19th and don’t forget to follow Some Velvet Morning on social media to keep up with their latest projects!
