The up-and-coming group from the New York City area known as Debacle are scheduled to release their latest single, titled “Flashing Lights,” on October 16th. “Flashing Lights” serves as the lead single of Debacle’s upcoming, self-titled debut album, which is scheduled to be released sometime in early 2023.
The band has been playing together since high school, previously under the name One 7-8, and quickly garnered a reputation as professional-level musicians and songwriters. Their debut release, a ska punk EP entitled One 7-8, received placement on radio stations around the world and the band had been able to successfully book gigs at historic venues like the Stone Pony and Rockwood Music Hall.
Since their humble beginnings as a ska band, Debacle has tried its hand at some different genres. Every track on their upcoming album embodies a different musical genre (or genres) with a wide range of different instrumentations for each track. For “Flashing Lights,” Debacle expertly pulls off creating a funky disco groove that pays tribute to its predecessors while maintaining their own unique sound.
For their upcoming album, the group has decided to record every track in their childhood homes and have even taken on the roles of mixing and mastering each track as well…a feat that few artists at their level are capable of.
“We were kind of taking a chance doing this all on our own but hearing how it turned out, we are so excited to share this album with the rest of the world. We hope everyone finds something from the album that they enjoy listening to because we truly believe you won’t hear anything else like it!” – Debacle
Be sure to check out “Flashing Lights” when it drops October 16th and don’t forget to follow Debacle on social media to keep up with their upcoming releases!
