This autumn, Electric Litany return with a new single, “Reciprocate”. The track is out now and leads into the band’s fourth album, Desires, set for release on 17 October 2025 via Flying Hearts.
A Song Filled With Emotion and Energy
Reciprocate blends lush textures with heartfelt lyrics. The track recalls the atmospheric sound of The Cure, Radiohead, and Foals, while keeping its own identity.
Frontman Alexandros Miaris explains that the song is about truth, resilience, and the power of love. As he says:
“Only love can save your heart, and sometimes that’s enough.”
His ghostly falsetto, paired with layered production, makes Reciprocate both moving and memorable.
Blending Old and New Sounds
The single’s sound design pushes boundaries. A Persian santoor shapes the melody, later transformed through modular synthesis to form cascading arpeggios. Together with synth bass and light percussion, the song creates a modern alt-pop style with depth and originality.
A Striking Visual To Match the Music
Electric Litany also teamed up with Spanish director Denise Moreno for the single’s official music video. Her art-driven visuals reflect the song’s dreamlike and emotional character, giving fans a complete experience.
Looking Ahead to Desires
Following their previous single Diamonds, this release builds excitement for Electric Litany’s upcoming album, Desires. Recorded in London and Athens, the album was produced by George Botis with additional mixing by Miaris.
The record shows the band’s growth after fifteen years of music-making. Tracks like Itor dive into distortion, while Prism highlights raw simplicity. Richard Simic’s drumming and Jason Tsontilis’s synths expand the sound, while Miaris adds emotional depth through his vocals, piano, and guitars.
